Welcome!

4'm a choral conductor and composer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, committed to joyful and inclusive music-making at the highest level and to telling vital, relevant stories through song.

I currently serve as the Artistic Director of the Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir and conductor of Stanford University's Early Music Singers.

In the 2024-2025 season I am delighted to serve as Composer-in-Residence for 21V; premiere my new choral opera about the 1885 expulsion and resistance of the Chinese community in Eureka (Humboldt County) with Piedmont East Bay Children's Choir and Humboldt Asians and Pacific Islanders in Solidarity; write new works for soprano Alice Del Simone and the San José State University Choraliers; and have works performed by Luther College Collegiate Chorale, Lux, and Vino Ensemble.

Please take a look at my website to find out more about my work, to see perusal scores, and hear performances. I love connecting with ensembles who are performing my work, and welcome commissions. Contact me to eric.m.tuan@gmail.com to discuss time frame and budget - I enjoy crafting innovative yet singable music for almost any budget and voicing.
